For two summers, Mickey Mantle rented a house on Madison Avenue in River Edge NJ, around the corner from where I grew up.  One day, armed with my Brownie camera, I knocked on his door.  He patiently stood in his driveway while I took his picture.  I had it developed, then enlarged.  Back I went for an autograph.  My first.  The year was 1959.  He was 27.  I was 9.
